It is not every day that you have a recipe that really focuses on the garlic right? I mean apart from when you are worried about vampires and that sort of thing. But you know since that is rare, then yeah – it ain’t always about the garlic. Well at least for me not until this Harissa Garlic BaconPasta.

Just the thing needed to celebrate National Garlic Day right?

How To Make Bacon Pasta

This recipe really is incredibly simple. It is made from 5 core ingredients aka garlic, pasta, spring onions (scallions), harissa and bacon. Do make sure you use some really good quality bacon – my preference has been the rather fab British spolitpig bacon, of which I have a whole drawer in the freezer.

Then it is also about making some really freshly fragrant garlic paste as smooth as you can. The others ingredients aka pine nuts and cheese are just extras. They are not strictly speaking necessary but they do make the Bacon Garlic Pasta flavours all pop and then some. So I say add them in liberally.

Step 1. Cook the pasta.

Step 2. Fry the bacon.

Step 3.Fry the spring onion (scallion) and add inthe garlic puree followed by the harissa paste.

Step 4. Return the bacon to the pan followed by the pasta and stir.

Step 5. Serve the pasta in bowls topped with pine nuts and cheese.
